Variable Load - JHU Wind Energy Team

The goal of this project is to implement an active variable load for precise power optimization. This system replaces previous iterations of the JHU Student Wind Energy Team's turbine power optimization system, which used a passive resistor bank to provide load to the turbine.

Features

• Designed 10-channel parallel MOSFET array to regulate 50 A at 2kW
• Simulated active load circuit in LTspice with <5% error between simulated and actual values
• Implemented Arduino-based Perturb and Observe MPPT algorithm
